Twelve-week live programme
The Boiling Frog Mastermind.
Twelve weeks to turn the heat down. A live programme for physicians, nurses and every high-stakes profession that runs on adrenaline, built from more than thirty years inside the boil, not a textbook about it.
“The frog never decides to boil. It just stops noticing the water changed.”
Have you ever sat in the car park before a shift, dreading the hours ahead? Charted at 2 a.m. with a hand that would not quite steady? Told yourself “I’ll deal with it after this rotation” for so long you stopped noticing the water had started to boil?
Nobody in medicine, nursing or a high-pressure technical career decides to burn out. It happens one late finish, one more alarm, one more deferred conversation at a time, until the temperature most of us have been sitting in for years is dangerous, and we are the last ones to notice.
This was built first for medicine, and it is proven there: a real twelve-week cohort inside an NHS Trust. But the pattern is not unique to a ward. If you lead in another profession where the pressure never finds an off switch, in engineering, IT, aviation or law, the specifics differ but the physiology does not. An alarm is an alarm, whether it is on a monitor or in a pager.

What it is.
Dr Ash Kumar, MD, FRCP (Glasgow), MBA, spent more than thirty years as a consultant physician across India, the UK and the US before naming what he was living through: the Jacuzzi Effect. The same slow heat that burns a career down can be turned, degree by degree, into a temperature you actually choose to stay in.
A decade of working that out on himself became two books, The Boiling Frog and The Boiling Frog Workbook, and now this Mastermind: the same framework, delivered live, in a small cohort, coached by Dr Ash in person.

Why most stress programmes only fix half the problem.
The analytical kind
CME modules, time-management courses and resilience checklists. They train the logical half of you and leave the exhausted, feeling half exactly where it was.
The emotional kind
Breathwork, retreats and mindfulness weekends. They soothe how you feel for an afternoon, then hand you back to the same overloaded inbox and the same rota on Monday.
The Boiling Frog Mastermind was built to work both at once. Two of its four modules train the felt experience of stress: self-awareness, emotional intelligence, reconnecting with why you chose this career. Two train the structural experience: time, environment, values, and a written plan you actually follow. Most programmes pick a side. This one integrates both, because the boil was never only in your head, or only in your diary. It was in both.
What twelve weeks actually builds.
Weeks 1 to 3
Self management
The felt half
- Self-awareness as a daily discipline
- Self-reflection you actually keep up
- Self-care that survives a bad rota
Weeks 4 to 6
Resilience management
The felt half
- Emotional and social intelligence
- Adaptive response over pushing through
- A growth mindset under real pressure
Weeks 7 to 9
Environmental management
The structural half
- Time and energy actively managed
- Micro-stress caught before it accumulates
- Conflict resolved instead of absorbed
Weeks 10 to 12
Value management
The structural half
- Values, purpose and direction made explicit
- The Eagle's Journey: rising above the pond
- A written personal plan, not just an experience
Every cohort works from the same toolkit used in the books, Focus, Reality, Options, Go for it (FROG), and leaves with a written personal plan, not just an experience.
Proven where it matters.
This is not a pitch deck. The full framework has already run as a live twelve-week Mastermind inside an NHS Trust: twelve sessions delivered in person, a closed cohort, and unscripted thank-yous from participants who still ask themselves “what would Dr Ash do” months after the course ended. A senior Gallup-certified strengths coach who sat in on delivery is now building his own workshop referencing what he saw.
“A comprehensive, value-packed book with vital techniques and ideas.”
A foreword from Marci Shimoff, and a podcast heard in 58 countries.
Who it is for.
- Physicians, nurses and every clinician holding the line one shift at a time
- Engineers, developers and IT leaders whose pressure never finds an off switch
- Anyone in a demanding career that keeps raising the temperature, one degree at a time
Is this the right fit?
Not every high-pressure career is ready for every cohort, and that is by design. Places stay small on purpose, and the coaching stays personal because of it. Rather than a sales page, this is a conversation: a short discovery call to talk through where you actually are, what twelve weeks could realistically change, and whether this is genuinely the right fit right now. No pitch, no pressure, and no obligation either way.
15-minute call, pick a time that suits you.
